Gemalto's Cinterion EMS31 is the first LTE Cat M1 module to accommodate IoT applications with M2M applications. Simplicity and efficiency opens up new possibilities to deliver LTE for "Machine-Type-Communication" (MTC) with new energy-saving technologies for up to 10+ years battery life. Cinterion's IoT-powered IoT module offers up to 300 kbps download and upload speeds of 375 kbps.

EMS31 is the first IoT module based on dedicated LTE Cat. M1, and offers low power, for a wide range (LPWA) technologies with wider coverage, including signal reception in buildings and underground. It can support more than 10 frequency bands in a single hardware device, eliminating the need for multiple product variations, offering simplified global deployment and short development time.

LTE-M exists alongside 2G, 3G and traditional 4G networks, allowing for easy development while ensuring the same security.

Cinterion EMS31 is ideal for low-speed, low-bandwidth solutions that are not speed-dependent, but rather require long network connectivity and enhanced indoor coverage, such as smart grid, agriculture, fleet, asset tracking, smart applications in cities (Smart City), medical solutions and industrial sensors. .
